Farm History
The original homestead
Current farm was bought by William and Josephine Schmidt. 120 acres and milking herd of 20 cows.
1908
1922
Remodeling occured. Milking herd increased to 22 cows. First silo was built.
1921
William passed away. Josephine takes over the farm.
1902
William and Josephine purchased a farmstead in Alaska, WI.
1906
Adrian Sr. was born, William and Josephine's first child.
1898

Adrian Jr. (aka Ace) was born
Adrian Sr. is killed in a truck accident. Adrian Jr. and Kay Schmidt bought farm. Milking herd increased to 50 cows. 270 acres of farm land existed.

Adrian Sr. Schmidt buys farm. Milking herd increased to 34 milking cows.
1962
Adrian Jr. and Kay Schmidt get married
1996
Barn fire occured. All cows sold in auction that fall. Started raising heifers.
2001
Ace's son, Randy and Dena Schmidt went into partnership and started S&S Ag Enterprises. Raised up to 6,400 heifers.
2008
A second farm, Peninsula Dairy was purchased. Milking herd was 400 cows.

Methane digester was installed on farm to start producing enough power for at least 600 houses
Calf facility was built. Now S&S Jerseyland Dairy can officially state they are 100% homegrown

The custom heifer raising business was discontinued. S & S Ag Enterprises was transitioned into what is now S & S Jerseyland Dairy.
